Privacy Notice

Version 1.5 · Policy version alpha-terms-privacy@1.5 · Effective August 25, 2026 · This community is in invitation-only alpha testing.

What we collect

Your account name and email, the first name or nickname you choose for the Community, an optional profile photo, a brief bio, the profile answers you choose to give, your course progress and badges, feedback you send us, and basic technical logs used for security and site operation. The guided profile setup also asks for an optional ZIP code, where you are willing to serve, an optional Contact email, an optional mobile number, and whether you affirmatively choose SMS updates. We retain the time and version of that text-message choice.

What does not belong in the community

Do not post case files, criminal records, court or supervision documents, release plans, or another person’s private case information. Program records are kept in a separate system with separate access and consent rules.

Who can see what

Individual member profiles never appear to anonymous visitors. Inside the signed-in Community, your chosen first name or nickname, profile photo, brief bio, and the neutral account handle in your profile link are visible to other members. Required technical last-name and nickname fields remain visible only to authorized Community staff. Your account email is private and is not shown to other members. Your answer to “What brings you here?”, optional ZIP code, service-area preference, and SMS preference are also visible only to you and authorized Community staff.

Your optional Contact email and mobile phone start private. You may separately choose to share either one with signed-in Community members. If you share contact information, other members may copy or save it. Sharing a mobile number does not opt you into SMS updates; text-message permission is a separate choice.

A separate public Partner Directory may contain a vetted organization’s name, general contact channels, services, eligibility, service area, hours, cost, accessibility information, and verification date. An organization appears only after verification and its approval to publish. Named liaisons, direct referral contacts, current capacity, internal vetting notes, and member account links are not shown to anonymous visitors.

How we use information

We use it to operate and secure the community, track course progress, review feedback and reports, understand where local or remote service opportunities may fit, support appropriate member-to-member contact, maintain the vetted organization referral directory, and improve what we build. During this alpha, the site records the SMS preference but does not yet send Community text updates. If text updates are enabled later, we will use the mobile number only when the member has a current opt-in.

How information may be shared

We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising. Trusted service providers process limited information needed to host the site and deliver email. A text-message provider may process a mobile number and delivery records only after SMS updates are enabled for members who opted in. We may preserve or disclose information when required by law, needed to protect the site, or reasonably necessary to address a credible threat of immediate harm.

Emergencies

This community is not an emergency service and is not monitored for immediate response. If someone may be in immediate danger, call 911. Call or text 988 for a suicide or mental-health crisis. For substance-use treatment referral and information, call SAMHSA at 1-800-662-4357. Do not wait for a community report or feedback message to be reviewed.

Your controls

You can edit available profile details, change whether members may see your optional contact information, and change your SMS preference from the guided profile page. If text updates begin, every message will also explain how to opt out. During alpha testing, account closure and verified deletion are handled by the team so associated test records are also removed. To request a copy, closure, or deletion of account data, write to team@embracedfully.org. Requests are handled subject to applicable law and records that may need to be kept for security, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.

Cookies

The site uses cookies needed for sign-in, security, and core features. We do not use advertising cookies.
